Disclaimer

Effective Date: 4/12/2026

Spam Killr is provided as a software tool intended to help website owners reduce spam submissions through automated filtering, scoring, blocking, and related security features. By installing, activating, configuring, or using Spam Killr, you acknowledge and agree to the following disclaimers.

General Use Disclaimer

Spam Killr is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we have built Spam Killr to help reduce spam and improve form security, we do not guarantee that the software will detect, block, prevent, or eliminate all spam, malicious submissions, bot traffic, abusive traffic, or fraudulent activity.

Likewise, we do not guarantee that all legitimate submissions, inquiries, leads, contacts, or customer messages will always be accepted, delivered, or processed without interruption or error.

Spam filtering inherently involves judgment calls, thresholds, rules, and automated decision-making. Because of this, false positives and false negatives may occur. A legitimate submission may be blocked, flagged, redirected, filtered, delayed, or otherwise affected. A spam submission may also occasionally pass through.

End User Control and Configuration Responsibility

Spam Killr gives the end user control over many settings, rules, thresholds, and filtering options. These may include, but are not limited to, keyword blocking, submission timing thresholds, honeypot-based filtering, foreign character blocking, disposable email blocking, link or URL limits, IP blacklisting, rate limiting, TLD blocking, reCAPTCHA sensitivity, redirect behavior, and other security-related controls.

Because the website owner or administrator has full control over how Spam Killr is configured, the website owner or administrator is solely responsible for:

  • reviewing all plugin settings before use
  • determining whether a feature should be enabled or disabled
  • choosing threshold values and sensitivity levels
  • testing the plugin in their own environment
  • monitoring the results of the configuration
  • deciding whether the plugin is appropriate for their specific website, forms, users, traffic, and business operations

Spam Killr cannot and does not assume responsibility for user-selected settings, overly aggressive filtering choices, misconfiguration, custom integrations, or failure to properly test the plugin before or after deployment.

No Guarantee of Lead Delivery

Spam Killr is not responsible for missed leads, lost submissions, blocked inquiries, delayed form entries, filtered contacts, failed conversions, customer complaints, or any loss of business opportunity resulting from the operation, misoperation, configuration, misconfiguration, incompatibility, or use of the plugin.

This includes, without limitation, situations where:

  • a real lead is blocked as spam
  • a real customer submission is filtered or redirected
  • a form submission is prevented due to the configured settings
  • a site owner enables features that are too strict for their audience
  • a third-party system, theme, plugin, form builder, email provider, firewall, host, or cache layer interferes with submission handling
  • legitimate submissions are not delivered for reasons outside Spam Killr’s control

The user understands and agrees that they are solely responsible for deciding how Spam Killr is configured and whether its filtering approach aligns with their business needs.

No Liability for Website Damage or Conflicts

WordPress environments vary widely. Different themes, plugins, hosting configurations, caching systems, firewalls, page builders, form builders, security plugins, server rules, CDN settings, JavaScript customizations, database conditions, and custom code may affect how Spam Killr behaves.

Although reasonable effort may be made to build and maintain compatibility, Spam Killr does not guarantee compatibility with every WordPress installation, plugin, theme, server environment, hosting provider, browser, custom function, or third-party service.

By using Spam Killr, you acknowledge that software conflicts, compatibility issues, performance issues, display issues, JavaScript errors, CSS conflicts, email delivery issues, redirect issues, database issues, plugin conflicts, form handling issues, or other unintended technical outcomes may occur.

Spam Killr and its owners, developers, operators, licensors, affiliates, contractors, and representatives shall not be held liable for any damage to your website, WordPress installation, server environment, data, settings, integrations, form behavior, email flow, plugin stack, business operations, or online presence arising out of or related to:

  • installation or attempted installation
  • activation or deactivation
  • plugin updates or failures to update
  • configuration or misconfiguration
  • incompatibility with themes or plugins
  • custom code conflicts
  • hosting or server limitations
  • redirection or blocking actions
  • performance impact
  • database interaction
  • security response behavior
  • removal, corruption, interruption, or loss of data
  • downtime, degraded functionality, or unexpected site behavior

It is your responsibility to maintain backups and test changes in a safe environment before deploying Spam Killr on a live website.

Testing and Backup Responsibility

Before installing or updating Spam Killr on a production website, users should make a full website backup and test the plugin in a staging or development environment whenever possible.

You are solely responsible for:

  • backing up your website files and database
  • testing plugin behavior after installation
  • verifying forms continue to function as intended
  • checking for conflicts with existing plugins or themes
  • reviewing blocked submissions and filter settings
  • ensuring the plugin is suitable for your particular site setup

Failure to perform these precautions is at the user’s own risk.

Third-Party Dependencies and Integrations

Spam Killr may work alongside or interact with third-party software, platforms, APIs, and services, including but not limited to WordPress core, form plugins, analytics services, captcha services, hosting providers, payment providers, email routing systems, firewalls, and security services.

We do not control these third-party products or services and make no warranty regarding their availability, performance, compatibility, security, or continued support. Any issue caused in whole or in part by a third-party dependency, integration, update, deprecation, policy change, API change, hosting condition, or service outage is outside our responsibility.

Security Disclaimer

Spam Killr is a security-oriented anti-spam tool, but no software can guarantee complete protection from every possible threat, spam attempt, exploit, bot pattern, abuse method, or malicious action.

Using Spam Killr does not mean your website is fully secure, immune from attack, or protected from all unwanted activity. It should be considered one part of a broader website security and administrative process, not a guarantee of complete protection.

No Professional or Legal Advice

Nothing on the Spam Killr website, inside the plugin, in documentation, in support content, or in related communications should be interpreted as legal advice, compliance advice, cybersecurity certification, or guaranteed business protection.

Users are responsible for obtaining their own legal, technical, or security advice where appropriate.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spam Killr and its owners, developers, operators, licensors, affiliates, agents, contractors, and representatives shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or other damages whatsoever arising out of or relating to the use of, inability to use, installation of, attempted installation of, configuration of, misconfiguration of, update of, failure of, or reliance on Spam Killr.

This includes, without limitation, damages for:

  • lost leads
  • lost revenue
  • lost profits
  • lost business opportunities
  • missed customer inquiries
  • blocked legitimate submissions
  • data loss
  • email delivery failures
  • site downtime
  • business interruption
  • plugin conflicts
  • website instability
  • performance degradation
  • database corruption
  • reputational harm
  • support delays
  • security incidents
  • third-party service failures

This limitation applies even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Maximum Liability Cap

To the fullest extent permitted by law, if Spam Killr is ever found liable for any claim, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the software license during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), whichever is less.

User Acceptance of Risk

By purchasing, downloading, installing, activating, configuring, updating, or using Spam Killr, you acknowledge that you understand the risks associated with WordPress plugins, third-party compatibility, automated spam filtering, and website modifications.

You accept full responsibility for how the plugin is used on your website and for the outcomes of your selected configuration.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Spam Killr and its owners, developers, operators, affiliates, licensors, contractors, and representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, judgments, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:

  • your use or misuse of the plugin
  • your configuration choices
  • your website content or form handling practices
  • your violation of any law or third-party rights
  • any dispute between you and your users, customers, visitors, or clients
  • any claim that Spam Killr caused you to miss, block, mishandle, or fail to receive a submission or lead

We may update this Disclaimer at any time without prior notice. Updated versions will be posted on this website with a revised effective date. Continued use of Spam Killr after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
